LEADING A PROGRAM

The UWL International Education and Engagement (IEE) staff and the International Education Committee (IEC) looks forward to assisting faculty in what will be a rewarding cross-cultural experience abroad. Faculty-Led programs allows for international professional development of our faculty while offering cultivating high-impact learning experiences for our students at UW La Crosse.

Faculty members are invited to submit proposals to the IEC committee for NEW and ON-GOING Faculty-Led Programs.

BEFORE SUBMITTING A PROPOSAL:
  • All NEW Faculty-Led Programs start consultations with the Emelee Volden - Director of International Education and Engagement (IEE).
  • All ONGOING Faculty-Led Program start consultations with the Sami Sonkowsky - Study Abroad Advisor.
  • Faculty Leaders will then meet with Bridget Reedy - IEE Business Manager, to develop the proposed program's budget.
  • In addition, prior to proposal submissions, home departments and college/school Deans are consulted and provide approval.
  • Proposals are reviewed by the Faculty Senate Committee on International Education (IEC) who provide complete guidelines and planning tips.

Not every faculty-led program is alike, and that is why the IEE staff will work along side faculty leaders to develop, budget, and coordinate a successful program.
