Designed for students at all French language levels, this program allows you to acquire and improve French language skills while earning credit toward your major or graduation requirements. Your language courses focus on grammar, vocabulary development, listening comprehecours pratiques) and phonetics. Combine these intensive language courses at the Sorbonne’s Cours de Civilisation Française (SBN) with a wide range of electives, taught in English at the CEA Paris Center. Choose elective courses from subjects such as history, business, art history, cultural studies, communication, and political science. An Early Start option allows you to jump start your language learning before the semester begins.

Where You'll Study
Students take classes at the CEA Paris Center and at our partner institution, Cours de Civilisation Française de la Sorbonne. Located in the heart of the vibrant Marais District, the CEA Paris Center offers small class sizes and a wide range of electives taught in English. Choose the courses that best align with your academic, career, and personal interests. Founded in 1253, la Sorbonne hosts thousands of international students every year. This prestigious university’s French-language center, Cours de Civilisation Française de la Sorbonne, offers language and culture courses at the school’s Raspail campus in Paris’ 14th Arrondissement. Students will receive a transcript from the University of New Haven, CEA’s School of Record, and from Cours de Civilisation Française de la Sorbonne upon completion of their program.
