PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
  • New Zealand’s geographic diversity and relative isolation has created intriguing challenges to businesses and the thriving city of Sydney provides an opportunity to explore commercial issues in a globally significant Asia-Pacific market gateway.
  • Whether you are at home in the mountains, by the ocean or in the middle of a bustling city, this program has something for you. You will travel from rugged mountainous landscapes with no one else in site to Australia’s largest city.
  • You have the chance to swim with wild dolphins, kayak by golden beaches, and hike through surreal “The Lord of the Rings” scenery.
  • See a performance in the world-famous Sydney Opera House and visit the historic Rocks district, site of Australia’s first colony.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Do you want to spend your winter break away from the frigid Midwest AND earn credit? Look no further! The Sustainability in New Zealand & Australia program is the answer to your winter woes and is one of the most unique opportunities UWL has to offer when it comes to faculty-led programs.

Did you know that our winter is their summer in the South Pacific? This program is great for students studying Recreation Management, Therapeutic Recreation, Business, Sustainable Business, and Tourism! However, it is open to ANY major and it's also open to non-UWL students (taken under REC375 ONLY). We are looking to take 20-30 students on this once in a lifetime opportunity where we will explore 7 cities over the course of 3 weeks.

This is a long standing program that is in partnership with AUIP - an extremely reputable study abroad program provider based solely in Australia & New Zealand. Their expert on-site staff has a wealth of knowledge and will be guiding all of the excursions and cultural activities. Various UWL faculty from the College of Business and the College of Science & Health have ran this program in years past and it is has been very successful! Spots fill up quickly - so get yours today!
