Exchange vs. Direct Enroll: Exchange programs are very competitive and
placements are limited. However, students who are not offered an
exchange placement can still participate in this program as a direct enroll
student. This means that students will be billed University of Kent's
tuition rather than UWL resident tuition.
Student going to the UK for a semester will NOT need to apply for a visa before
departure, but upon arrival in the UK.
Students spending an academic year in the UK MUST apply for a student visa
in advance. Students can only start the visa application process after they have
been accepted at Kent.

UWL DOES NOT arrange student visas. Students are required to independently
arrange for their student visa and need to be aware that this is a TIME SENSITIVE
requirement that will include an additional out-of-pocket cost. Get more information
about traveling to the UK, including information about visas, @ Travel.State.Gov-UK
or @ UK.Gov.

The University of Kent offers campus housing. For more information
about housing check their housing page!
