HOW IT WORKS
  1. Meet with a UWL Education Abroad Advisor
  2. Meet with your academic advisor to discuss courses
  3. Complete the study abroad application process*
  4. Pay UWL resident tuition (exchange) or Kent's tuition (direct enroll).
  5. Pay housing and meals at the host institution abroad
  6. Spend your semester or academic year in England!
*Students MUST first start the UWL study abroad application
process. Students can ONLY start Kent's application process after
our office has nominated them.

Exchange vs. Direct Enroll: Exchange programs are very competitive and
placements are limited. However, students who are not offered an
exchange placement can still participate in this program as a direct enroll
student. This means that students will be billed University of Kent's
tuition rather than UWL resident tuition.
VISA INFORMATION
Student going to the UK for a semester will NOT need to apply for a visa before
departure, but upon arrival in the UK.
Students spending an academic year in the UK MUST apply for a student visa
in advance. Students can only start the visa application process after they have
been accepted at Kent.

UWL DOES NOT arrange student visas. Students are required to independently
arrange for their student visa and need to be aware that this is a TIME SENSITIVE
requirement that will include an additional out-of-pocket cost. Get more information
about traveling to the UK, including information about visas, @ Travel.State.Gov-UK
or @ UK.Gov.

ACADEMIC PROGRAMS
The University of Kent is a full curriculum institution; therefore, there are
courses available in many field of studies.
Keep in mind that...
- In the UK courses are referred as MODULES and majors are referred as
  COURSES.
- Modules will vary depending on the term.
- The credit system is different.
NOTE: Some modules at the University of Kent are considered "full year" modules,
meaning that students will be enrolled in the module for an academic year. All modules
with the "Term" designation of "Autumn and Spring" are the full year modules and will
not be available for students who plan to study for just one semester.
