Interesting Fact: Stirling is the youngest city in Scotland! Even though Stirling once
held the capital city of Scotland, it wasn’t until 2002 at the Golden Jubilee of Queen
Elizabeth the 2nd when Stirling gained city rights.

VISA INFORMATION
Students studying abroad for 1 semester will NOT need to apply for a student visa prior to
departure. However, they will need to provide required documentation in order to
receive their student visa upon entering the UK. Students participating in an academic
year ARE required to apply for a visa before departure. Get more information about

  • 3.0 GPA
  • Sophomore status at start of program
  • Good academic standing
  • Good disciplinary record on campus 
Students who are interested in studying abroad, but do not meet eligibility
requirements, are encouraged to make an appointment with a study abroad
advisor. We will assess each situation on a case-by-case basis.
*Students need to first start the UWL study abroad application process. Students can ONLY start the University of Stirling application process after our office nominates students. 
** UWL doesn't arrange student visas. Students are required to independently arrange for their student visa and need to be aware that this is a time sensitive requirement that will include an additional out-of-pocket cost. For more information visit Travel.State.Gov.
