Program Description:

The city of Aberdeen lies on the northeast coast of Scotland with miles of beaches, dunes, and cliffs. Aberdeen is big enough for the “big city” feel, but is compact enough to make it student-friendly. The historic campus is located on Old Aberdeen, just a fifteen minute bus ride from the bustling city-center. The city hosts cinemas, museums, galleries, and leisure and sports facilities, and has a fantastic nightlife. Not far away are the Scottish Highlands with castles, mountains, and miles of North Sea coast land.

Students studying abroad for 1 semester will NOT need to apply for a student visa prior to
departure. However, they will need to provide required documentation in order to
receive their student visa upon entering the UK. Students participating in an academic
year ARE required to apply for a visa before departure. Get more information about

Catered living will include meals on particular days. Program

Many academic programs may be taken at
the University of Aberdeen. Students will not be registered for a course until
they meet with their advisor upon arrival at Aberdeen.

Students who are interested in studying abroad, but do not meet eligibility
requirements, are encouraged to make an appointment with a study abroad
advisor. We will assess each situation on a case-by-case basis.
*Students need to first start the UWL study abroad application process. Students can ONLY start the University of Aberdeen application process after our office nominates students. 
** UWL doesn't arrange student visas. Students are required to independently arrange for their student visa and need to be aware that this is a time sensitive requirement that will include an additional out-of-pocket cost. For more information visit Travel.State.Gov.

Student will pay ONLY UWL resident tuition while abroad, even if the student is currently paying out-of-state tuition. Students need to be enrolled full-time with a minimum of 12 credits hours. Please refer to the Budget Sheet at the top of this online brochure for more information.
