HOW IT WORKS
  1. Meet with a Study Abroad Advisor
  2. Meet with your academic advisor to discuss courses
  3. Complete the study abroad application process*
  4. Pay UWL resident tuition
  5. Pay housing and meals to the host institution abroad
  6. Spend your semester or academic year in Mexico!
*NOTE: Students need to first start the UWL study abroad application process.
Students can ONLY start UDLAP application process after our office nominates them.
VISA  AND ARRIVAL INFORMATION
Students will need to apply for a student visa prior to departure.
Students should start this process as soon as they receive their acceptance
letter from their host institution as this process can be lengthy.
Get more visa information @ Travel.Gov-Mexico or @ UDLAP exchange
students website

UWL DOES NOT arrange student visas. Students are required to independently
arrange for their student visa and need to be aware that this is a TIME
SENSITIVE
requirement that will include an additional out-of-pocket cost.

UDLAP recommends students arrive at Mexico City airport. A group of
students from the buddy system will go to Mexico City airport to meet int'l
students and help them get on the bus to Puebla. Once in Puebla, domestic
students also greet int’l students at the bus station and help them get into a taxi
to campus. If students choose to arrive at Puebla airport, they are responsible for
arriving to campus. In this case, their only option would be a taxi for about $350 MXN.
